I think she is a housewife ironically after all her injuries she married a top physio. He was head physio to the British Olympic athletic teams. Sonia also worked at British athletics till 1998. She has a 14 yr old son who is at West Bromwich albions football academy and is also a good sprinter! I actually met her a year or so ago and what a lovely lady she is!

There is a similar race to this where Sonia wins beats Richter at Cwumbran in the Europa cup and then goes on to tear her hamstring in the relay whilst on last leg, leading and limps over the line just a few metres from the line.
